Church Street is a story about the power of sex stripped away from morality and judgement. It is a glimpse into a part of our society that is very rarely represented and a tradition that is as old as our morality. The key question in the movie and even the root of the movie lies in Annabelle’s line: [FRENCH there are people who get punched for money, they are called boxers, it’s even a sport. better I get fucked for money.] I think sex is far more natural than violence and yet we glorify violence and shun sexual desire. This story is my way of opening that conversation.
